• Anesthesia & Critical Care

  The majority of services provided by Lifelong Learning fall into four categories: education, scientific literature review, clinical problem solving, and research.

  Lifelong Learning provides custom continuing education (CE) to meet your educational objectives – from general CE needed for periodic recertification to targeted CE designed to address specific needs of your practice or prepare clinicians for a new practice area. Continuing Education is available in whatever form best suits your needs; monthly CE available through Anesthesia Abstracts, traditional on site lectures, real time internet seminars, independent study, internet presentations that can be completed at any time, and more.

  Evidence based practice is widely recommended as the foundation of clinical care. But not all published information is quality information. We combine research skills and clinical understanding to critically review and summarize the best quality scientific information. Our written summaries are fully referenced. The accompanying analysis clearly identifies the strengths, limitations, and weaknesses of the information. We can provide a written summary alone or, in collaboration with your clinicians, include expertise and experiences unique to your setting. This information is valuable for clinical guidance and protocols, procedures, best practice development, or as the basis for problem solving.

  We address troublesome clinical problems for you. We provide objective, balanced analyses of clinical anesthesia and critical care problems, allowing your clinicians to maintain their focus on patient care and income generation. Lifelong Learning will work with you to define the problem, summarize available scientific information, formulate a plan, investigate and analyze the problem, present findings, and make recommendations.

  A research study can be designed to test a theory you have developed, solve a clinical problem, or as a follow up to a problem solving processes. Study design and implementation is available independently or in collaboration with your staff.

• Educational Development, Assessment, & Design

  At Lifelong Learning, we provide best practice information to home–schools, preschools, daycares, and public and private learning institutions at a variety of developmental levels. With 30 years of service in multiple educational arenas, we offer a background that includes public and private sectors in four different states; serving as teacher, principal, vice–principal, and educational specialist. This history includes a broad span of learning environments, from the inner-city south side of Chicago, to an elite private school environment.

  We offer professional development centered upon the educational needs of your staff and faculty; one on one, small group or large. Strategic development can be created to specific state standards or new areas of evidence based practice. On–site or internet seminars can be completed to prepare your employees as a one time presentation or using on–going presentations scheduled to suit your needs. Ongoing learning opportunities are available featuring assessment, accountability, program evaluation, and standards activities.

  On–site program evaluations can help you identify areas of strengths and weaknesses within your organization. Lifelong Learning will assist you in identifying your needs and offering up–to–date research based ideas while tailoring recommendations specifically for you. Implementation of new strategies can be overseen on-site or long distance.

  Keynote addresses are offered to motivate your staff in areas of classroom coaching, class management, peer coaching, alternative assessments, confronting mediocre teaching, and managing school climate. Refresher courses and new strategies provide a variety of topics to expand your organization’s knowledge base.
